7-Axis Robotic Peening Machine

This integrated shot peening system was designed to peen aircraft control surface actuators and other non-symmetrical aircraft structures. An integral hoist enables easy loading and unloading onto a turntable that shuttles out of the cabinet. A Fanuc robot is used to manipulate a direct pressure nozzle or rotary lance drive for peening exterior surfaces as well as deep bores and pockets. A semi-automatic media change system enables multiple media sizes to be used in the same machine, with changeover times of about 30 minutes. The entire system is computer controlled to meet SAE AMS-2432 shot peening specifications.
