Progressive got its start as Progressive Engineering in Holland, Michigan in 1967

Our team of problem-solving engineers has made Progressive the world’s leading innovator in surface treatment machinery.
Since 1967, Progressive has been the first to:
- put automatic doors on multi-spindle rotary index machines, turning shot peening from a dirty, noisy necessity to an advanced surface enhancement process.
- design a coordinated two-axes nozzle blasting machine with an indexing turntable.
- replace a multi-nozzle machine with a single pressure nozzle, five-axis robotic machine.
- develop a dual-robot system for peening internal and external surfaces.
- invent the gravity accelerated shot peening (GASP) system.
- design a closed-loop process controller for plasma spraying gases and powder feed rates.
- develop the industry-leading PRIMS (Process, Reporting, and Integrated Monitoring System).

Progressive has no commercial standard price list, but we have standard equipment. Most machine proposals are a custom arrangement of proven subsystems combined to match each customer’s unique needs.
