Fan Disk Robotic Dovetail Shot Peen Using Rotary Lance
Home / Shot Peening Videos / Fan Disk Robotic Dovetail Shot Peen Using Rotary Lance
A Progressive Surface Gantry Robot system along with servo linear spindle axis to shot peen the dovetail slots on an aircraft engine fan disk. These critical rotating parts require peening coverage on the pressure faces of the blade retention slots to protect against fatigue failure. Media flow and air pressure along with lance rotation speed are all programmable and closed loop controlled.
