Shot Peening Machines with Multiple Media Types and Sizes
Expanding the capabilities of a single machine to peen a broader range of components
The goal of machines that operate with multiple media sizes and types is to maximize the versatility of a single automated system. The tradeoff is the time it takes to switch between media and the cost of the system itself. Progressive offers many options: one system switches immediately (within the part program) between media; another takes about 15 minutes; and the least expensive and most manual takes closer to one hour to exchange. The choice of which machine is right for a given application depends on the frequency of the exchange, equipment budget, and integration of multiple options.
- Automatic, semi-automatic, and manual media exchange options
- Systems that support changing between steel, glass, and ceramic media types
- Compliant with aerospace industry in-process media specifications
- Ability to combine multiple approaches to fit specific part flows and budgets
