Waterjet Cleaning System for Solid Rocket Booster Overhaul
Safely remove rubber and insulation to reuse the boosters
Ultra high pressure water jet cleaning cell for cleaning rubber and insulation from the interior of solid rocket cases. The manipulator has a 30 foot long horizontal stroke driven by an electric servo control rack and pinion. There are two hydraulic pivoting arms at the end of the manipulator that are used to change the nozzle standoff distance and impingement angle to follow the internal dome and walls of the rocket frame.
